Snow Fun!

It's great when your scrappy mojo returns after being MIA for a very long time. I've been a scrapbooking machine lately. Most of what I've been working on has been for submission so I haven't been able to share. I took a very inspirational trip to a local scrapbook store recently and found these gorgeous winter papers from Simple Stories. After finding some perfect photos to add, I'm very pleased with how this page turned out. Since nobody is requesting winter projects, I'm happy to finally have something to share!

Just Like Brothers

I've been very fortunate to live next to someone I call one of my closest friends for the last seven years. Amazingly she had her son only 4 months before Mason was born so they've been life long friends. They play like brothers, they fight like brothers and they love like brothers. I did this layout to celebrate this unique relationship!

Love est. Nov 2014

You know when you're single and you're going through the dating pool and experiencing a series of idiots and heartbreakers and you think this dating thing is just not for you anymore and you resign yourself to being an old cat lady? You hear that saying that says something to the effect of "one day you'll meet someone who will make you realize why it never worked out with anyone else" and to be completely honest, you think....that's a load of @&^%!

Well guess what...it's true! As my journaling states, my life changed the day I met this guy! He is an amazing man and I'm totally going to keep him :)

Getting Some Layouts Done!

When I started my holidays this week, I had so many plans. I knew I wouldn't get them all done but I still had them. I was going to clean out my spare room, purge some old clothes (and donate them to a charity), scrapbook, wrap Christmas presents, etc. I was a woman with a plan.

Well, I was right; I wasn't going to get it all done. However, I did get some scrapbooking done and it feels so good. It seems I haven't had a lot of time lately for my hobby but the truth is, you make time for what's important so I'm vowing to myself to MAKE time!

Along with adding some journaling to a stack of layouts I did a while ago, I scrapped a whole new page using Sketch 155 from Got Sketch! It worked perfectly with some photos I had sitting on my desk and had just been sort of pushing around but getting nowhere with.

I have three more days left of my holidays....and I definitely plan on getting more scrapbooking done!

I'm baaaaaack!

I'm baaaaack! It's been a long time since I blogged and that's because it's been a long time since I've been feeling creative and actually scrapbooked. I'm excited to say I've got my mojo back and I'm creating again. I'm hoping to keep up with my blog and maybe even get back into the world of submitting again!

So here's a couple things I've worked on lately....

Just Like Dad

It's not often I get an opportunity to have my picture taken with my Dad so when I do, I jump right on it. My sister took this photo of Dad & I at Christmas and I love how it turned out. I ended up printing it out in a 5x7 so it could take center stage on a layout. When I saw this month's single page sketch, I went straight for this photo. I love how the strips look; it allows you to use many different patterns without overwhelming your page. Please stop by the Sketch Support site to download this and other great sketches.

Sketch Support February One Page Sketch

Happy Monday everyone! It's a holiday here in Canada (Family Day) so I'm enjoying a nice long weekend with my two favourite guys.

It's a new week and that means a new sketch at Sketch Support. I knew as soon as I saw this sketch from Allison, that I had the perfect photo from our recent trip to Alberta. The funny thing is now that I'm thinking about it, I got the years wrong. We were together 10 years at the time of that photo! Ooops! Guess I'll have to try and fix that!

Christmas Morning

Oh Jillibean...how I love thee! It seems every time I create a page with Jillibean Soup, I end up loving it. I just adore their paper lines....keep doing what you do Jill!

I still haven't scrapped my Christmas photos from last year but couldn't wait to scrap some photos from this year with these papers and since there are no rules when it comes to scrapbooking....tada! Other than the die cut "Christmas" in my title, all products are Jillibean.

All Smiles with Bella Blvd

I can't believe how quickly December is going. I shouldn't be all that surprised since it seems to go that way every year. It's so hard to believe my little baby is going to be 2 on the 18th of this month.

Feeling a little reminiscent, I created this layout of my little guy when he was 9 months old. He was always so smiley and would make others around him smile. Now he does that with his goofy antics!

I love using these ticket stamps and dies from Papertrey. Just by switching the ink and stamps up, you have a different embellishment every time.

Here I mixed Doodlebug and Jillibean Soup letters to make a fun title on a custom title banner.

Best Buddies

I've been so busy with Christmas related projects (cards and gifts) that I haven't had much to post lately. I did create this layout a week ago and I'm so happy with how it turned out. Mason and his best friend Liem love hanging out and sharing a plate of food together. These pictures are from way back in May and they make me miss my little guy's mohawk so much! Should I cut it like that again? I'm trying to let it grow out a bit for him but dang...I love that mohawk!

Oh and keep checking in because I have some exciting news to share....I just can't share it yet!

Home is Where the Heart Is

A friend of mine at work today (Michael) gave me a gentle reminder...more like a nudge, that I hadn't updated my blog since the middle of October. What can I say? Life has been busy. So hopefully me sharing this altered frame will put a smile on his face (and yours!).

My sister bought me this frame which was a natural wood colour and I had so much fun painting, sanding and decorating it to display in my home.

Gel-a-tins Cards

As my last month designing for Gel-a-tins comes to an end in October, I thought I better put together a little catch up post of some of my cards that have been featured on their blog but not yet posted on mine.

This first card features the "Save the Date" set. I really loved this one because it could be used on both cards and layouts.

Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye
Die Cuts: Silhouette
Stamp: Gel-a-tins

The next two cards are using the "Chocolate Bliss" set. I just love the "You are a truffle in a chocolate bar world" stamp!

Happy Fall

We went from 20+ degree weather last weekend to cold and blistery this weekend. Fall is officially upon us. I created this layout recently of last Thanksgiving and thought I would post it today seeing as it suits the mood of the weather around here perfectly.
