Oh Jillibean...how I love thee! It seems every time I create a page with Jillibean Soup, I end up loving it. I just adore their paper lines....keep doing what you do Jill!

I still haven't scrapped my Christmas photos from last year but couldn't wait to scrap some photos from this year with these papers and since there are no rules when it comes to scrapbooking....tada! Other than the die cut "Christmas" in my title, all products are Jillibean.

Happy New Year!! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. I had so much fun celebrating this year because Mason was so much more aware of what was going on than last year. He was completely spoiled which is not surprising considering he's the only grandchild on Aaron's side.

I can't believe how quickly December is going. I shouldn't be all that surprised since it seems to go that way every year. It's so hard to believe my little baby is going to be 2 on the 18th of this month.

Feeling a little reminiscent, I created this layout of my little guy when he was 9 months old. He was always so smiley and would make others around him smile. Now he does that with his goofy antics!

I love using these ticket stamps and dies from Papertrey. Just by switching the ink and stamps up, you have a different embellishment every time.

Here I mixed Doodlebug and Jillibean Soup letters to make a fun title on a custom title banner.

Best Buddies

I've been so busy with Christmas related projects (cards and gifts) that I haven't had much to post lately. I did create this layout a week ago and I'm so happy with how it turned out. Mason and his best friend Liem love hanging out and sharing a plate of food together. These pictures are from way back in May and they make me miss my little guy's mohawk so much! Should I cut it like that again? I'm trying to let it grow out a bit for him but dang...I love that mohawk!

A friend of mine at work today (Michael) gave me a gentle reminder...more like a nudge, that I hadn't updated my blog since the middle of October. What can I say? Life has been busy. So hopefully me sharing this altered frame will put a smile on his face (and yours!).

My sister bought me this frame which was a natural wood colour and I had so much fun painting, sanding and decorating it to display in my home.

Another layout to share using Gel-a-tins Save the Date stamp set. This set has proven to be very versatile as I've used it on both cards and layouts now and you'd never know they were from the same set.

I created this layout (shared on the Gel-a-tins blog) about Mason's 2nd set of swimming lessons with Daddy. Mason graduated from Kinderswim last December.

I love working with Echo Park. The collections are always designed with great colour combos and are so easy to use on pages about my life which usually means Mason but sometimes, other important people in my life.

I've got three layouts to share today, all using mostly Echo Park Paper. The first layout is one that is really near and dear to my heart because it has three of my most favourite people on it; my Dad, my son and my little brother. Yes...I said my little brother! My dad had another child late in life and my new little brother is only 5 months older then my little guy which means he always has a playmate when our family gets together.

Playing Catch Up!

Well it's been a while and I'm sorry I haven't been able to post since the 8th. August has been crazy. My hubby's 30th birthday was at the beginning of the month and shortly after that we headed off to Alberta to visit my sister in law. We had such a fabulous time! Here's one of my favourite pictures from Alberta.

This post is going to be a bit of a catch up post so I'm going to share with you a layout done for the Scrapping Turtle and a layout created for Gel-a-tins Stamps.

First up is the layout for the Scrapping Turtle, created with Authentique Paper. The challenge for this particular layout was a hidden element and I chose to hide my journaling (partially because I ran out of room and partially because I had this great envelope from Maya Road to use).

Sometimes you sit down at your scrap table with no plan in mind other than to just create. This was one of those times. I knew I planned on working with Gel-a-tins Button Up stamp set but that was it. I flipped through a few magazines and found a layout with circles that inspired me so I started cutting circles, and more circles, and more circles and before I knew it....I looked down and the circles were in perfect placement. All I had to do was adhere them down, add my picture and title and few stamp accents and it had created itself!

Hello everyone! Hope you're enjoying a great weekend. My weekend has been pretty much spent on the couch. I went from a stomach flu...right into a cold/flu that's been keeping me pretty much bed/couch ridden.

One thing that got me up and moving was this fantastic paper line from new scrapbook company Authentique Paper! I adore the quality of this paper which is actually more of a cardstock weight. Today I want to share with you a card I made for Gel-a-tins using their Shifting Gears stamps set. I love how this card turned out and I'm going to have a really hard time giving it to someone and parting with it. What is very different for me and this card is there is no patterned paper at all. This card consists solely of cardstock, stamps and rub-ons.

I've been having fun playing around with an older set from Gel-a-tins; the Shifting Gears set. I love this for adding something extra to my boy pages.

Summer Fun

Sharing Some Layouts

We've been so fortunate lately with such nice weather that three days of rain coming up is going to seem like forever. However rain means I can stay inside and scrapbook guilt free!

I finally got around to taking pics of a couple of layouts I did recently. The first one is of my niece Kylie's 4th Birthday back in January. We always call her Kylie Girl so my sister put that right on her cake when she made it.

Bo Bunny Ad Lib

I've got to say that I have really been enjoying designing for the Scrapping Turtle but June has been my favourite so far because I've been fortunate enough to be working with Bo Bunny's Ad Lib collection. It caught my eye right away when I saw it on shelves so when I received it in my kit, I was so excited.

I have two layouts to share with you today using the Ad Lib collection. The first one is based on a sketch from Scrapbooks Etc.

The second layout was a technique challenge to distress. As my papers were really bright, I first thought it was really going to be a challenge but there was this fun paper (I used for my background) that had a grungy look to it. Once I started with that as my base, the rest just kind of fell into place!

Opa Hugs

What's better than a hug from Opa? I love the picture in this layout because Mason had just started to give hugs and you can see how much it means to Opa.

Scrapping Turtle May Reveal #4

Happy Tuesday! Yesterday was Victoria Day in Canada (and therefore a long weekend). I had a really nice and enjoyable weekend. The weather really held out for us this weekend.

Today we are revealing our third project with the Scrapping Turtle featuring papers from Best Creations. This week's challenge was to master the style of "clustering". It's not something I do often but I'm comfortable with white space so it was a pretty easy challenge for me to take on.

On another note...guess what Mason did? Broke his arm! Yup, you heard that right; he broke his arm. On Wednesday of last week, he missed my hand and took a tumble down the stairs. His arm didn't seem to be bothering him until the weekend so we took him in to the hospital and xrays confirmed, his wrist is broken. Poor little guy will have to wear a cast for 4 weeks!

This month we will be playing around with a company I've never had the pleasure of working with yet, Best Creations. The line I'm working with is called Safari Boy and it's extremely adorable! Here's my layout based upon sketch #71. I had fun with this one as my Gel-a-tins Shifting Gears Stamps matched perfectly with the theme of the layout. I love these pics of my little guy playing cars. It's such a boy thing and it's so freakin' cute. He's even started making little car noises as he runs the cars along the ground.

Happy Easter!! I've had a wonderful Easter with my family. It was my son's 2nd Easter and his 1st really aware of what was happening. What fun it was for me to see his eyes light up when he found a new egg on his Easter Egg Hunt!

What would a great Easter weekend be without a little scrapbooking. I created the card below based on CPS Sketch 215 using my latest Gel-a-tins Stamps.

Scrapping Turtle April Reveal #3

Another week gone by and just like that it's Monday again! This of course means a brand new reveal at the Scrapping Turtle. Week 3 means technique for the Design Team and since we've been working with the super fun Smooch Spritz, we were challenged to create a technique based layout using the Smooch Spritz.

For my layout, I placed down some letter stickers on my cardstock, sprayed the ink randomly and then once it was dry, removed the letters to create a negative title.

My Core’dinations Creative Frenzy

Core'dinations Cardstock is having a Design Team call and since I not only love Core'dinations but also have lots of Core'dinations, it seemed like a great idea to throw my "hat into the ring"!

For this layout I cut out butterflies from my Silhouette, embossed them with the Cuttlebug Embossing Folders and then sanded them. I also used Core-dinations (sanded) for my scalloped border below my photo and for the circle under my title.

For my next layout of my son's 1st birthday (and experience with cake, hee hee!), I used Core'dinations in quite a few places. I embossed the green strips with the Cuttlebug Dot Embossing Folders again and sanded them before adhering them as borders on my page.

I also embossed the blue cardstock piece below my title with stars and sanded it. The brown circle below the "1" and the ticket stubs are also sanded Core'dinations!

For my card, I used one of my favourite embossing folders from Cuttlebug to create a pretty floral design on the brown cardstock before sanding it (of course)!

It's the first Monday of April and that means my first ever Scrapping Turtle Reveal. Every Monday, stop on by for a brand new reveal featuring a kit put together by the Scrapping Turtle. My Cute Little Bunny

I know it's not Easter yet but I couldn't resist picking up these adorable little bunny ears at the dollar store for Mason. As soon as I put them on he broke out in a huge dimply grin and reached for them. Every time I put them on his head now he laughs.

I created this layout for Gel-a-tins Stamps and the new stamp set called Easter Bunnies was perfect for a page embellishment.

I also used the older set called Spin Cycle to create a circle border just under the patterned paper.

Back in January when all the fantastic scrap companies were debuting their new product lines, I entered a contest on the Cosmo Cricket blog and won! They sent me a beautiful Upcycle Crafting Kit...my favourite of the three new collections.

A Couple Layouts

Where oh where does the time go? I can't believe it's believe it's been almost a week since my last post. I created a bunch of layouts a while back and never got around to posting them so I thought I'd share a couple today.

This layout is of my nephew who'll be turning 7 soon. He is just like his mom and his Aunt (me)...he loves taking pictures.

I coloured in the camera stamped image by Unity with some Copics and added a Kaiser Craft jewel to the flash!

Nichol Magouirk is hosting a monthly stamping class on 2peas. Since I love stamping, I'm enjoying using these classes as a challenge to use my stamps in new ways. Aaron has been taking his Personal Training Specialist course this weekend at the University of Waterloo so Mason and I have been hanging out. There's Ducky!

Since Mason was born and had his 2 month stay in the NICU, he had his little Ducky with him. We'd lay it in his isolette with him and when he came home he'd snuggle with it when he slept. Even now it brings a smile to his face at bed time.

2peas is hosting a stamping challenge every month hosted by Nichol Magouirk (a super talented scrapbooker and stamper). This month's challenge is to use an embossed design on your project. I created this layout of Mason and his ducky. I embossed the diamond border and the heart accents. It was a nice reminder of how versatile my stamp collection really is.

Here's some old photos that have been stumping me since I printed them...turns out I had them matched up all wrong. Once I came across the 2peas "products you love" challenge, I set out looking at all my paper strips in my stash and ended up with this Crate Paper called Lemongrass.

Holy cow...it's 2011! Where does the time go? Oh yeah...I have a little one, that'll do it. 2010 started as a trying year with Mason in the NICU for the first 2 months and then suffering from severe post partum depression once he came home. Thankfully, things settled down in March and we've been having a blast together ever since (including dressing Mason up as a little cowboy...see layout below).

I'm really happy with how this layout turned out. When I took these pictures I had a vision of how this page would turn out and fortunately it came pretty close to my original vision. Now isn't this the cutest cowboy you have ever seen?

Halloween Layouts

It seems funny that I'm finishing up my Christmas shopping and beginning to decorate my house for Christmas yet I'm posting Halloween pages but that's what I've been working on.

Please don't mind the pictures. I'm having a heck of a time finding the right lighting in my house with the dark and dreary days we've been having around here lately.

Here's a couple pages I created of Mason's first Halloween using the My Mind's Eye Blackbird collection. Isn't it adorable paper!!

If there's one thing I remember about my childhood, it's my love of reading. I always had my nose stuck in a book and can remember as far back as kindergarten and the excitment I would get when it was time to read. I really hope that Mason loves to read as much as I do. I caught him one day looking at one of his books and had to snap some photos!

Little Swimmer

It seems like Summer just ended however with the cooler weather in full swing, it seems like a lifetime ago when my little guy and I were enjoying a nice dip in our neighbour's pool on an extremely warm day.

As much fun as Summer was, my favourite season is Autumn, so I'm glad to see the leaves turning and the weather cooling down. I can't wait for the photo ops that a visit to the pumpkin patch and Halloween will bring.

I created the layout below using the digital stamp I LOVE SUMMER from the Cutting Cafe. It was the perfect addition to this fun Summer page!

Busy, Busy, Busy! Wow, life is busy lately. I've been hired back at Loblaw as a Payroll Administrator so I've been busy with training on a new system. I've also been working on some marketing material for a friend's paralegal business and doing website work for The Scrapping Bug.

I have however, been able to squeeze in a little scrap time, which of course is what keeps me sane!

Summer Fun

This summer has been anything but an ordinary one for me. For one, I have a son! After almost 4 years of trying, our little guy Mason was born and we've been having a blast watching him grow and discover. My hubby is home for medical reasons this summer and for that reason it's felt like one giant summer vacation. It has been a scorcher this year though so many of our summer memories are indoor ones, although we have managed to get outside a bit more lately with things cooling down.

If there's one thing I don't deal well with, it's internet deprivation! For most of the day today, my internet connection was down and man was I itchin' to get online. I was really excited to see this amazing digital stamp set from The Cutting Cafe. It's right up my alley as far as journaling goes on my pages. I love that you can print them out and hand journal or even add your journaling digitally. I can already tell that I'm going to be using the Jot It Down set over and over again!

Here's a layout I created using one of the journaling blocks from this set. My little guy is wanting to crawl so badly. I'm kind of glad he doesn't yet. It's nice to know that I'll still find him where I put him down. Once he starts moving, it's a whole new ball game!

We are interested in designers with a variety of styles who can creatively showcase myStampBOX designs in their cards, altered art and scrapbook layouts. No previous design team experience is necessary.

Here are the details for our call:

Term is 6 months from October 1st, 2010 to March 31st, 2011.

Team requirements:
* 4 projects per month
* 1 blog entry per month including good quality photos of a project and instructions/tutorial
* Upload all projects to the myStampBox website gallery and 2 other online galleries
* Submit at least 4 projects per term for submission to print magazines of your choice
* Occasionally help with additional design opportunities – new stamp sets, classes, newsletters, etc.

First Bath

Happy Tuesday! It's pretty dreary in my neck of the woods but it's better then the crazy humidity we've had lately. I've been down and out with a neck injury the last few days. It was enough to send me to the hospital on the weekend. I waited 10 hours!!!! It's a bad strain and they've given me some pain killers and anti-inflammatory medication.

I was going through some of my layouts on my computer and realized I never shared this layout of my son's first bath. So here it is....

I have never been so grateful for central air as I am this week. It is ridiculous hot this week. 38-40 celcius with humidity (or 100-105 F for my American friends). My poor hubby has to work outside in this. Yesterday I went out with Mason and poor little guy was soaked by the time we got home. You know it's hot when your baby is soaked with sweat!

On a scrappy note, today is Product Parade on the Pebbles Blog and the feature is their awesome stickers! I love their stickers they recently added to their collections and created this fun layout about Mason starting cereals.

Hockey Fan?

Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canadians!!! I was able to get some cute pictures of Mason in his Canada Day shirt before he goobered all over it. Ironically, the layout I want to share with you today has him wearing the same shirt back at the beginning of June. He's watching hockey with his dad....boy does this boy love hockey already!

I'm having so much fun playing around with The Cutting Cafe digital files and I just figured out how to change the colour of them too....I'm so excited.

For this layout I used two different sets of digital files. I used All About Boys and Fun with Days, Numbers & Months.

Hey everybody! We are so thrilled to announce the Pebbles Inc 2010 - 2011 Design Team call for applications! We are looking for talented and committed designers who love to create with Pebbles products. To apply, please email pebblesincdt@gmail.com with the following information:

A little bit about yourself. When did you start scrapbooking? How would you define your style? What do you love about Pebbles products? Are you on any other design teams? Have you been published before? It doesn't need to be a book but we want to be able to get a good sense of who you are and your papercrafting history. Please note that previous design team experience is not required. Be sure to include your name and your hometown as well.
A link to your online gallery and/or blog so that we may see samples of your various papercrafting projects. If you have a scrapbook resume we would love to see that as well.
A scan or photograph of two (2) scrapbook layouts, one (1) card, and one (1) other project that showcases your style. We would prefer to see projects that utilize Pebbles products however all applications will be considered.

All applications must be received by July 23, 2010 to be considered. Those individuals chosen to join the team will be notified via email and the new team will be announced here on the blog in early August. New design team members will serve for one (1) year beginning in September 2010 and will be required to submit two (2) assignments monthly. It's been a while. I've been sick this past week with two mystery illnesses. Neither really felt specifically like a cold or a flu but was enough to take me down for the count. Still a little dizzy today but feeling much better.

To get myself back in the groove, I decided to participate in this week's Card Positioning System's Card Sketch #172. I love a good CPS Card Sketch to get my mojo going. We're headed to a birthday pig roast this afternoon for my hubby's boss so I made the card a birthday card!
